Upper Moreland Soccer Club is based in Upper Moreland Township, Eastern Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1979 after the township recreational league decided to form a travel team, the league was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1981. Without a “home”, the club played on any open space the township could provide playing most intramural games behind Upper Moreland Middle School.
Since 1994, our permanent home has been located at Pileggi Park in Huntingdon Valley, PA.
A little history about the park: Thomas Pileggi donated 52 acres to Upper Moreland Township in memory of his brother, Frank J. Pileggi. The 52 acre site was donated to provide recreational opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities, with special attention in developing youth sport fields. Through private donations, local, state, and federal grants, township funds, and hundreds of volunteer hours, the 52 acre site was developed into Frank J. Pileggi Community Park. Through continuous joint efforts between Upper Moreland Township and the Upper Moreland Soccer Club, Frank J. Pileggi Park remains the premiere soccer complex in Upper Moreland Township.
In 2010, after years of great cooperation and partnership between UMSC and the township, the club was awarded a full 30 year lease for Pileggi Park. This lease is intended to provide UMSC with the necessary Lease evidencing an interest in the land as required to obtain grants for further improvements to the site, which may include an additional field, if appropriate grants and funding are obtained.
While we represent Upper Moreland, we attract players from all over the area. UMSC has gained a reputation as a club with GREAT volunteerism. Our volunteers are what makes this club a success.
