UMSC & adidas Partner on Three Year Agreement

Upper Moreland Soccer Club has selected adidas as their exclusive equipment provider through the 2009 season. The agreement, a first of its kind for UMSC, provides the club with access to many of the national and international assets in the adidas family and will utilize the vast experience adidas has in soccer to help promote Upper Moreland Soccer to the highest level.

UMSC will focus the majority of the assets of this agreement with adidas on its Travel soccer program to begin with. Starting with the 2007 Fall Season, all Travel players will be outfitted with official adidas kits (uniforms) and coaches will be provided adidas branded equipment. Also, as part of the agreement, UMSC has selected Angelo’s Soccer Corner as the preferred vendor supplying the club with much of the adidas apparel and equipment. The agreement also provides UMSC with access to additional benefits which are summarized below:

adidas Academy
adidas is committed to improved player development, and the adidas International Training Program offers a unique exposure to different coaching ideas and philosophies, styles of play, and tactical systems. The program offers elite training and competition and provides valuable insight into the youth development approach of some the world’s most famous clubs. This fully inclusive program is available to qualified adidas partner youth clubs, university teams and coaches and is operated under a special partnership with the International School of Soccer (ISOS).

Coerver Camps
UMSC will be offered 3 scholarships per year to be distributed at the clubs discretion to a selected Coerver Soccer Camp. For details on Coerver Camps click here.

adidas and MLS
As an adidas club, UMSC will be eligible to take advantage of the forthcoming MLS programs that will be offered through the 10 year exclusive agreement adidas has with the league.

Elite Soccer Program (ESP)
UMSC is able to submit applications for two players (one boy & one girl) to join the adidas Elite Soccer Program. adidas will decide if the recommended players will be accepted into the ESP program.

adidas Tournaments
UMSC will have access to the adidas family of global assets through various programs and tournaments. Some adidas sponsored tournaments include: Final Four Showcase, MLS Cup, Blue Chip Tournament, Disney Showcase, Potomac Tournament, & WAGS.

First Annual adidas 3 Stripe Classic Tournament
For the first time in the mid-Atlantic region, adidas will host its own tournament in Virginia Beach 2007 for all adidas clubs. The event will be unlike any other tournament in this region and more details will follow soon.

As this relationship with adidas continues to grow, UMSC will be continue to provide it’s members and players greater access to all the resources and opportunities encompassed within this agreement. The club is currently reviewing many of the programs offered by the agreement and will be passing along information and updates in the near future. Further, there will be many opportunities that develop from this agreement that we simply have not had the chance to explore yet. We hope that, in time, we will be able to maximize this partnership to its fullest potential and provide our members and players enhancements to the highest quality soccer program in the region.
