UMSC and ASF proudly announces this Summer’s Player Development Academy.

***August 22nd – August 26th : 9am – 12pm

Location: Pillegi Park

Player Development Academy : ALL KIDS AGES 5 to 10

Goal Keeper Camp : ALL KIDS AGES 7 to 14

We encourage all kids ages 5 – 10 to sign up for this years Player Development Academy.

Goal Keeper Camp will also be offered and should be selected at time of registration.

Travel players please contact your travel coach prior to registering.

2010 Soccer Player Development Series is BACK! Sign Up Today!

The Upper Moreland Soccer Club is offering, free of charge, to any player registered with our soccer club in 2010, the opportunity to participate in the “Player Development Series”.

This 3 week series of soccer skills sessions is being presented by a group of UMSC Board Members and Coaches who are passionate about the sport of soccer. The sessions begin with the first session on Thursday July 15th at 6:30 PM and it will be held at Pileggi Park on Schumaker Road. The remaining 2 sessions will be held Wednesday July21st and Wednesday July28th at the same time and place.

The sessions will focus on the development of the soccer players “Tool Box” of moves and skills while enhancing their confidence with the ball at their feet. The 3 sessions will focus on the following areas; ball handling, defending, and attacking. Coaches please encourage your players to attend these free sessions!

UMSC Player Development Series Returns for 2010!

The July Wednesday sessions will be returning this year. Last years sessions were well attended and the club is looking forward to the opportunity to bring the game to all of the players in 2010! The club is looking for coaches to assist the trainers this year to ensure that all of the kids have an equally enjoyable experience! Please offer to assist us in these free to all club player events. Contact John Moran Director of Player Development with any questions or to offer your assistance.

Atlantic Soccer Factory Travel Team Camps (August 16-20)

This year, Atlantic Soccer Factory will be hosting Travel Team Camps from August 16-20th at Pileggi Park. The sessions include some of the following areas:

Developing a system of play
Playing from the back through the midfield
Counter attacking play through quick transition
Twin striker movement
Personal and team possession
Creating movement to create space
Set plays from defending to attacking
Defending in blocks
Pressing and how to play against a pressing team
Phase play in all areas of the field
Attacking in the final third of the field
Finishing
The role of the goalkeeper in defending and attacking

Sample Day Program

9am – 9:30am: Xcelerate Speed and Agility
9:30am – 10:15am: Technical Theme
10:15am – 11am: Technical / Tactical Theme
11:15am – 12noon: Game / Phase of Play
